Cookie Policy
How this website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and booking tools.
This Cookie Policy explains how ChilternWellbeing Ltd (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use a site. Cookies set by us are often called “first-party” cookies. Cookies set by other services we use (for example analytics or booking tools) are “third-party” cookies.
How we use cookies on this website
Depending on how the site is configured, we may use the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies — needed for the site to load, stay secure, and deliver core features (for example hosting and content delivery). These do not require consent under UK PECR where they are strictly necessary to provide a service you request.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how the website is used so we can improve it (for example which pages are visited and how visitors arrive).
- Functional / third-party service cookies — may be set when you use embedded or linked services such as online booking.
Google Analytics
This website may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure traffic and usage. When analytics is enabled, Google sets cookies on your device and processes usage data on our behalf. Typical GA4 cookies include:
- _ga — distinguishes unique visitors (usually lasts up to 2 years).
- _ga_* — used to persist the GA4 session state (duration depends on Google’s configuration).
Analytics is only active when a Google Analytics measurement ID is configured for the website deployment. If analytics is not configured, those cookies are not set by us.
Google’s own explanation of how Analytics uses data is available in Google’s privacy policy.
Online booking (Cliniko)
When you book an appointment online, you may be taken to or shown content from our practice-management provider (Cliniko). That provider may set its own cookies and process personal data needed to complete your booking. Those cookies and that processing are governed by Cliniko’s privacy and cookie notices as well as this policy and our Privacy Policy.
Hosting and performance
The website is hosted on modern cloud infrastructure (including Vercel). The hosting platform may set technical cookies or similar technologies that are required for security, load balancing, or delivering the site reliably. These are treated as strictly necessary where applicable.
Content management
Website content is managed with Sanity. Ordinary visitors to the public website do not receive Sanity Studio login cookies. Editors who sign in to the CMS will receive authentication cookies required to use the Studio; that is separate from the public marketing site.
Cookie consent
At present this website does not display a cookie preference / consent banner. Where analytics cookies are enabled, we rely on this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy to explain what is used. We may introduce a consent mechanism in a future update. Until then, you can control cookies through your browser settings as described below.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, or delete cookies when you close the browser. Restricting cookies may affect site features (for example remembering preferences or completing some booking flows).
You can also use industry tools such as Google’s Ads Settings or browser extensions that limit analytics tracking, where available.
Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
